Visit the wilderness near your San Ramon home.Get away from your San Ramon home to experience some open space and nature. Visit Las Trampas Regional Wilderness to enjoy over 5,300 acres of wilderness and an extensive trail system that offers fresh air, exercise, and rejuvenation among nature’s beauty. This is a great place to get away from the busy city and go for a hike or ride horses without having to drive a great distance. Be sure to bring plenty of water for yourself and animals as the water supply in the park is inconsistent.

Those who call San Ramon home enjoy viewing the unique geological formations within the park. These are here thanks to the two bay area faults. The Orinda formation exhibits remnants of an ancient beach, and the El Sobrante formation also holds interesting layers of compressed rock with fossils. This area is a great place for San Ramon property owners to hold a party or gathering. The Ranch at Little Hills is located adjacent to Las Trampas and is available by reservation for group picnics from 50 to 1,500 people. There is even a swimming pool, playing fields, and barbecue facilities. Las Trampas Stables are also available for horse boarding, riding lessons, birthday parties, and day camps. This park has much to offer the residents of San Ramon. Visit Las Trampas Regional Wilderness for more information and to plan a visit.
