Kids from San Ramon homes love their library.Kids from San Ramon homes can celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss at the Dougherty Station Library on March 2nd. The library invites children four to eight years old to participate in crafts and stories honoring the beloved creator of the Cat in the Hat and so many other delightfully quirky stories. The celebration will run from 2 to 3 p.m.

After the event, make some time to check out the library’s collection of books and movies. The library also offers San Ramon real estate owners free or discounted entrance to many area museums, theaters, science centers, zoos, and other fun and interesting institutions. In addition to all the materials available for checking out, the library hosts many events. There are storytimes for young children, after school movies, tech activities for kids and teens, a gaming club, seminars for parents, English conversation groups, and book clubs.

The main San Ramon library is under construction until 2017, but Dougherty Station Library has a lot to offer. It’s conveniently located near San Ramon homes on the campus of Diablo Valley College. Dougherty Station Library focuses on children, teens, and the community college students. It’s open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
